Nowadays, there is no reason to panic when you delete important files by mistake. The physical data is still there, on the hard drive and you can restore it with the right software. FineRecovery will help you find your lost files, without any difficulties. You do not have to possess advanced knowledge to use this application. If you know how to use a standard explorer window, FineRecovery will present no challenges.

The software can be installed in a few seconds, on Windows 2000 and all the later versions, as well as Linux. The low system requirements make it possible to run FineRecovery even with older hardware. It supports numerous file systems, including NTFS, FAT and XFS.

You can access partitions, explore your folders and see their contents in separate areas of the interface. Before a partition's files and folders are revealed, you need to scan it. There are three scanning options, located on the software's toolbar. The standard scan is fast, but it may not find too many deleted files. The full and advanced scans are more thorough and they will find much more data, but they will take some time to complete.

If you find images or text files among the results, you can preview them, on a separate window, by selecting the files and clicking an option on the toolbar. You can mark individual files, by clicking their check boxes and hit the Recover button to restore your lost data. For better success odds, it is recommended that you restore the files on a different partition. Before it starts the recovery process, the software will prompt you for a destination path. Once you select a folder, your files will be copied immediately.

Pros

FineRecovery features an explorer-like interface, making it easy to explore deleted files, when they are found. It offers three scanning functions which you can start with a single click. It is compatible with multiple Windows versions and file systems. Furthermore, the software is portable as well, so you can also install it on a USB flash drive.

Cons

The software does not list its findings during the scanning process. Thanks to FineRecovery, there is no need to concern yourself about accidentally deleted files. The software will recover anything, regardless of size or format.
